CCSS and Assessments

The Connecticut Core Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics serve as a roadmap for what students should learn to graduate ready for college and the workplace. At ESM we use authentic, engaging curriculum materials to support students' learning in all content areas. Our teachers use ongoing, meaningful assessment to help gauge their daily instruction to best support all learners. In addition to curriculum based assessments, students participate in a varety of assessment measures in order to help determine their progress in reading, math, and science. This page provides a snapshot of some of the newer assessments.
