Our school provides a core curriculum to all students that is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science and Engineering Standards, and to the Connecticut State Frameworks.

Students study reading, language arts, writing, math, social studies and science. Electives are offered in engineering, environmental sciences, physical education, Spanish, computer education, library/media sciences, art, music, instrumental, and health. Enrichment and accelerated classes are available which includes Virtual High School for our middle school students. Intervention and supports are available for any students needing these services. 

ESM offers supports to any students with 504 plans, IEP’s, and/or in need of English Language Learning services.
High quality instruction is delivered using inquiry-based and project-based learning models. Teachers meet weekly to collaborate, plan, and review achievement data with our instructional coaches and administration. Assessments, progress reports, and report cards are aligned to standards and the curriculum and are issued every trimester.
